Leo Review: Thalapathy Vijay’s Latest Sensation in Tamil Cinema

With every new release, the anticipation for Thalapathy Vijay’s films has become sky-high, and Leo doesn’t disappoint. Paired with director Lokesh Kanagaraj’s touch, Leo promises a wholesome treat for the Tamil makkale.

Enga Hero, Parthiban!

Set against the picturesque backdrop of Theog in Himachal Pradesh, our man, Parthiban (Vijay) leads a peaceful life. But, as always, pazhaya vendettas never die easy. When kettavan (troublemakers) enter his serene world, we are introduced to the thrilling duality of Parthiban and his doppelganger, Leo Das.

Hits and Misses

The film starts off with a steady pace, but it’s the post-intermission koothu where Lokesh’s storytelling feels a tad inconsistent. Yet, for every loyal Vijay rasigan or rasigai, Leo is a celebration of his unmatched aura and acting prowess.

While Anirudh’s music might not have every track turning into a chartbuster, the bgm during key sequences keeps you hooked. A few moments might seem catered exclusively to the Tamil audience, but hey, that’s where the naatu flavor lies!

Verdict for Our Tamil Makkale

Leo, with its ups and downs, offers a roller-coaster ride, making it a treat for every Kollywood enthusiast. While the film might have its minor hiccups, Thalapathy’s magic ensures you leave with a smile. So, pullingo and pullinga, if you’re seeking some solid masala entertainment, Leo should be your weekend pick!

Update on Leo’s Box Office Performance

Post its record-smashing debut, Leo witnessed a surprising dip on its second day. With an initial collection of Rs 140 crore worldwide and Rs 64.8 crore nett in India, the figures dwindled to Rs 36 crore on day two, marking a 44% decrease.

Despite these fluctuations, Leo’s stronghold in Tamil Nadu remains unwavering, contributing to a major chunk of its collections. Yet, its ultimate test lies in the upcoming weekend, especially when compared to the box office giant, Rajinikanth’s Jailer.

Pre-release controversies aside, Leo’s LCU connection has now become clearer to the fans. With events unfolding after Kaithi and Vikram, Leo adds another dimension to Lokesh Kanagaraj’s cinematic universe. But will this revelation pull more fans to the theaters? Let’s wait and watch.
