Leo’s Song Controversy: Truth Behind Dancers’ Payment Issue

Thalapathy Vijay’s much-awaited blockbuster, Leo, is gearing up to dazzle fans on October 19. Its song ‘Naa Ready’ – a sensation crooned by Vijay himself – has been setting music charts on fire across the nation. But recently, the song created a different kind of buzz.

Rumors had it that the movie’s producers shortchanged the dancers for their electrifying performance in ‘Naa Ready’. The dance floor was abuzz, and fans were left scratching their heads. But, the Film Employees’ Federation of South India (FEFSI) decided it was time to set the record straight.

Stepping into the spotlight, FEFSI president RK Selvamani debunked the rumors. He revealed that the epic Leo song, envisioned by director Lokesh Kanagaraj, demanded a massive ensemble of 2,000 dancers. While the Tamil Nadu Film, Television Dancers, and Choreographers Association (TANTTNNIS) could muster 600, the rest were outsourced. Known as Rich Boys/Girls, Models, or Non-Members, these talented folks usually grace the background, moving in harmony with the front-liners.

These 1,400 non-members grooved to the beats for 6 captivating days, and here’s the deal-breaker – every dancer was rightfully paid! A whopping total of Rs 94,60,500 was smoothly transferred to their bank accounts. TANTTNNIS too received a separate service charge to ensure everything went off without a hitch.

In short, the Leo team made sure that every move, every twirl, and every jump was well-compensated. With the dust settled, fans can now eagerly await Leo‘s grand release without a shadow of a doubt!
