In a recent candid interview, Shiva Rajkumar, who made a significant cameo in Rajinikanth’s blockbuster ‘Jailer’, shared a touching childhood memory involving the legendary Kamal Haasan. He recalled the sheer joy he felt after hugging the Kollywood icon, to the extent that he refrained from bathing for three days.
Kamal Haasan, a stalwart of Kollywood, continues to commit to big-budget films, with projects like ‘Indian 2’, ‘Kalki’, and upcoming ventures with directors H Vinod and Mani Ratnam.
Meanwhile, ‘Jailer’, which released on August 10th, has been making waves at the box office. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Sun Pictures, the film features Rajinikanth in the role of Muthuvel Pandian, with a star-studded cast including Ramya Krishnan, Vasanth Ravi, Mohanlal, Jackie Shroff, and of course, Shiva Rajkumar. Shiva’s portrayal of the gangster Narasimha has been particularly well-received, with both Tamil and Kannada fans celebrating his performance.
Shiva Rajkumar hails from a prestigious lineage in the Kannada film industry. His father, Rajkumar, was not only a superstar but also served as the Chief Minister. The untimely demise of his younger brother, Puneeth Rajkumar, a leading actor, sent shockwaves through the film community. Shiva himself enjoys significant popularity in the Kannada film industry, and his role as Narasimha in ‘Jailer’ has only heightened expectations for his upcoming film, ‘Ghost’.
Reflecting on his encounter with Kamal Haasan, Shiva Rajkumar expressed, “As a child, when Kamal Haasan visited my father, I hesitated to approach him. But when he called me over and I expressed my wish to hug him, he embraced me warmly. The happiness from that moment was so overwhelming that I didn’t bathe for the next three days.” This heartfelt anecdote has since gone viral, showcasing the deep respect and admiration Shiva holds for Kamal Haasan.
