The Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU) is making headlines again! After the attention it garnered with Kaithi and Vikram, it’s now Leo’s turn to join the OTT realm, as it preps for its release on Netflix this November 20th. Even though the film faced mixed reactions from critics, particularly around its story and second half, it undeniably attracted significant attention.
Directed by the proficient Lokesh Kanagaraj and backed by producer SS Lalith Kumar, Leo is indeed a worthy addition to the Tamil cinema. The film stars Trisha as the female protagonist, supported by renowned personalities like Sanjay Dutt and Arjun Sarja, who have left notable marks with their roles. Complementing the film’s narrative is the sound palette crafted by Anirudh Ravichander, adding to its overall appeal.
Thalapathy Vijay’s Leo has had a considerable run at the box office, impressively crossing the Rs 400 crores mark. While it continues to enjoy its theatrical run, discussions about its OTT debut have been on the rise.
An interesting tidbit for cinephiles: The makers of Leo strategically partnered with Netflix, deciding to showcase the film on the platform merely four weeks after its theatre release. Due to this swift transition, some multiplex chains, adhering to their 8-week transition policy between theatre and OTT, decided not to screen Leo. But as fate would have it, Leo found its digital haven in Netflix.
So, for those who missed it on the big screen, or wish to catch it again, Leo awaits on Netflix.
